There is a lot of misconception on what L.O.H. (ladies of Harley) is. This section is to help clarify what L.O.H. is and how it is vital to any H.O.G. Chapter
So what does L.O.H. do? Well, your involvement just might help to answer that!

L.O.H. was established to encourage women to become more active in H.O.G. and their local chapters. It is not a separate organization but rather another part of the benefits of H.O.G. It is not a group of women trying to separate from the men, but rather trying to encourage more women to be involved in a activity thet was traditionally male dominated. More and more women are moving from the passenger seat to their own bikes, but we still do not want non-riders to feel intimidated.

L.O.H. membership allows you to not only participate locally, but also in all the L.O.H. activities at various H.O.G. rallies and events. The only requirement for membership is that you must be a member of the Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.). There are no additional costs. All you have to do is select the L.O.H. box on your application and you will receive a patch and a pin distinguishing your involvement.

The Central Illinois Effingham Chapter meets the third Saturday of each month at Legacy Harley-Davidson located at 1315 Althoff Ave., Effingham, IL. The meeting starts at 5:00 pm and usually concludes by 7:00 pm when we often go somewhere together to eat a meal.
We invite you to stop by and meet some of the Harley owners in this area.

Get Trained and Licensed - Take an MSF/Riders Edge course and obtain the appropriate rider's licence from your state.
Wear Protective Gear - Wear proper protective riding gear; most importantly, a helmet, madet to Department of Transportation standards.
Don't Drink and Ride - Ride unimpaired, never drink or use other drugs before getting on a motorcycle.
Ride Within Your Limits - Stay within your personal limits, never ride faster or farther than your abilities can handle.
Be a Lifelong Learner - Return regularly for refresher riding courses.
